Research into a possible film distributor.

It’s important to decide on whether or not are film would be a mainstream or independent film. Below I have researched into a possible mainstream and independent distributer:

A possible independent film distributor is:  warp films.

·         Warp films is an independent film production company based in Sheffield and London that was founded in 2002.

·         Warp has distributed various horror films one example is “berberian sound studio”. Which about a sound engineer's work for an Italian horror studio that becomes a terrifying case of life imitating art. The film was released in 2012 and given a 15 certificate.

A possible mainstream film distributer is: dream works

·         Dream works is an American film studio which develops, produces, and distributes films, video games and television programming

·         I think this would be an appropriate distributor because Dream works was the distributer of the ring -a similar film that I have reviewed in my research.

·         However dream works is largely associated with family films and children’s animated movies and so are film would probably not appeal to their primary market as are film is a horror movie targeted at a local audience.

I think are film would most likely be an independent film because it is a low budget film that doesn’t use any special effects. Its also been created in the local are so its unlikely it will appeal to a national audience.
