In New Nightmare, Heather Langenkamp returns as herself. It is set 10 years after the original and a big anniversary movie is gearing up for her to return as Nancy Thompson. She is married and has a son, as well as a very hectic schedule. Soon into the movie, her husband is killed in a car accident and from then on her life spirals into a real-life nightmare. Nancy realizes that a dream demon has taken the persona of Freddy Krueger to haunt the real-life actors from the series. She has to fight for her life as people around her are beginning to die and her son is being lured in by Freddy. Nancy stops Freddy and saves the day once again, leaving a fairly happy ending.
